SCAMMERS. SCAMMERS. SCAMMERS. SCAMMERS This is another disreputable shop operated by typical blue-collar workers lacking education and integrity. Their prices are excessively high, and they attempted to impose unnecessary charges. They tried to bill me $300 for an oil change after they went to the back to 'fix' it. Additionally, they charged me for 7 quarts of oil when my vehicle only requires 4.2, and they added a $20 fee simply because they felt entitled to do so and another charge for "some sort" of additive that I didn't ask for they probably even didn't do the additive. They claimed it was for shop supplies, yet there was another charge for the actual supplies. I suppose they are billing me for the towels used to clean their dirty hands. Those who leave positive reviews are likely unaware of the scam and simply comply with it; they even impose a 3% fee for card payments as if it's 1999. These are the kind of people who WILL intentionally damage your vehicle just to ensure you return. I had to make two calls to check if my car was ready, as no one in the shop seemed to know its status. It could have remained there overnight if I hadn't called at the last moment. These people are criminals.

My car broke down on the road, seemingly due to the alternator. Before I got my car towed there, I called and asked how much it would be to replace the alternator. A guy named Dave looked up the price based on the make, model, and engine type and said it was coming up as $713 including labor which could change but would be somewhere around that price. I asked which towing coming they recommended and had it towed there. After it got there they did a diagnostic and said that it would be about $1500 including the tow; they had to replace the battery for the diagnostic and the alternator would be a bit more than $1000. I asked why the alternator was so much since I had talked to Dave earlier and he said it would be around $713. The guy on the phone said Dave prolly didn't realize that it was a car with a computer system--but that was a lie since Dave looked it up based on the make, model, and engine type. He then put me on hold and came back and said "the boss" says that Dave told me it would be between $700 and $1600 which was also a blatant lie. In the end they ended up replacing the alternator for a somewhat high but fairly reasonable price but the ease with which they lied about it all was infuriating and they do not seem trustworthy whatsoever
Our car broke down on the side of the road with “alternator” symptoms, late on a Friday night. The tow truck driver was a mechanic himself and said it was the alternator. We had it towed to Kirkwood A and T because it was the closest mechanic. After Kirkwood looked at it, we were told it wasn’t the alternator but just the battery, despite the battery only being 18 months old. We paid for a new battery/labor and picked up the car. Great service and repairs. They are extremely willing to work with customers and are able to diagnose and repair anything. Highly recommend this shop.
Brad and his team are always great to deal with. I trust Brad, if they recommend a repair IT'S TRULY NEEDED! KA&TR has been a loyal Chamber of Commerce supporter since the start. Give them a call & refer your friends.
They have all been great there and have done a wonderful timely job repairing our vehicles Kudos to them !!!
I called on a Tuesday and spoke with a gentleman regarding a service I needed performed and the conversation yielded a written appointment for that following Thursday. The next afternoon, Wednesday I had a strong hunch that I should call and confirm the apt. Well the person that answered was older and I think he was the owner but there's no doubt he was cranky and annoyed with the whole thing. He told me they aren't even working on RV's anymore and there's no way the appointment should have been made , especially because it's just him working on Thursday, BUT , If I wanted to come he'd inspect my brakes but he wouldn't do any work or repairs. He also said I'd have to wait awhile that he'd get to it sometime before noon. SO, I figured at least I'd know more after the inspection about my possible issues so I WENT, understanding he was alone and I'd have to wait awhile if I was late . But I wasn't , I got there 20 minutes after they opened and was the only one there! But instead of helping me he test drove cars all morning . What could have been less than an hour work for him to honor the word of his own crew ended up being a 4 1/2 hour wait for us with zero update as he kept driving by in other customers cars. We DID have an appointment, We WERE ignored , It was a lousy experience and waste of time. The lot was FULL of work he has plenty of work apparently, Might need to hire some help perhaps.
Brad and Drew have been great with repairs and general maintenance on several of our vehicles. Highly recommend their services.
As always, another great experience with Kirkwood Auto and Truck Repair today. Drew and his team do an excellent job every single time and are always upfront and reasonable on the pricing. I won't take my car anywhere else as long as they're around.
These guys really know there stuff. And they don't try to sell you parts you don't need. Very fair on price also.
